Don’t Shop For Homes Alone

According to a new report from the National Association of REALTORS® 88% of buyers purchased their home through a real estate agent or broker.  That’s up 69% from 2001!  To top that 2014 has seen that 90% of homebuyers who found their homes on the internet ended up purchasing their home through an agent. That means that your competition has professional help.  That’s all the more reason why you need someone on your side too.

With all the search engines and apps to help buyers find homes, you would think that buyer’s agents are a thing of the past.  Yet they are going stronger than ever.  With recent history having an unstable market, more new homeowners have been waiting and entering the market with more maturity.  They know they are not prepared for bidding wars and will get better deals when they have a professional handling the negotiations.

Having an agent multiplies the buyer’s chances of finding the right home at the best price. The buyer’s agent networks with other agents to find the right home and they learn which homes are coming onto the market before the general public. Many homes are bought and sold without a sign ever going into the yard.

Today’s agents are like today’s buyers and sellers. They’re more technology-savvy and willing to work hard to please their buyers. They know that buyers eventually become sellers, and sellers become repeat buyers. That’s how good agents build their businesses, through repeat business and referrals. They are highly motivated to do the best job possible for homebuyers.
